AF03

AF03 is a proprietary, thermoreversible, squalene-based oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant developed by Sanofi Pasteur. It is designed to enhance the immunogenicity of vaccines by stimulating the innate immune system, promoting antigen uptake and presentation, and increasing the magnitude and breadth of B cell and antibody responses. AF03 is distinguished from other squalene-based adjuvants, such as MF59 or AS03, by its thermoreversible properties, which may offer advantages in manufacturing and stability. It has been evaluated in clinical trials as a component of seasonal quadrivalent influenza vaccines (e.g., Fluzone and Flublok) and pandemic vaccine candidates, including recombinant protein-based vaccines for SARS-CoV-2 (CoV2-PreS-dTM) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV-gB).
