Overview

AF165 is a human recombinant monoclonal antibody targeting bone sialoprotein (BSP), developed by Immundiagnostik AG and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). Bone sialoprotein is a glycoprotein highly expressed in bone-metastatic malignancies, including breast cancer, where it is associated with tumor progression and skeletal metastasis. AF165 binds to BSP and has demonstrated preclinical efficacy in vivo, inducing dose-dependent remissions in rat models of breast cancer skeletal metastasis. To improve its cellular uptake and cytotoxic properties, AF165 has also been fused to cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) such as TAT and Pep1, which show enhanced affinity and induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells in vitro.
