AFA-281 is a new chemical entity under development by AfaSci for the treatment of neuropathic pain, inflammatory pain, osteoarthritis, cancer pain, lumbosacral radiculopathy, alcohol use disorder, and cocaine use disorder. It is administered orally or intravenously. The drug acts as a dual modulator by inhibiting both T-type calcium channels (Cav3) and soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH), targeting mechanisms involved in neuronal excitability and neuroinflammation. Clinical trials are ongoing in Phase I and II for various indications[1][2][3][4][6].
