Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Afasevikumab is a fully human monoclonal IgG1κ antibody that targets and neutralizes both interleukin 17A (IL17A) and interleukin 17F (IL17F). It was originally developed by NovImmune SA and later by Genentech for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as autoimmune disorders. The drug acts as an inhibitor of IL-17A and IL-17F proteins, which are key cytokines involved in the pathogenesis of various immune-mediated inflammatory conditions. Afasevikumab reached clinical development but has since been discontinued for all indications[1][3][4][5].
