Overview

Afluria Quad is a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine used for the prevention of influenza caused by the virus subtypes and types (A and B) contained in the vaccine. It contains purified hemagglutinin antigens from four different strains of influenza virus, selected annually based on recommendations to match circulating strains. The vaccine works by stimulating an immune response that leads to the production of antibodies against these viral antigens, providing protection against infection. It is administered as an intramuscular injection and is indicated for use in individuals 6 months of age and older (in some regions, only for those 5 years and older). Annual vaccination is recommended due to frequent changes in circulating influenza strains. The product is developed and manufactured by Seqirus.
