Afluria Quadrivalent

Afluria Quadrivalent is an inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine developed by Seqirus (a CSL company) for active immunization against influenza. It is a quadrivalent vaccine, meaning it contains hemagglutinin (HA) antigens from four different influenza virus strains: two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). The vaccine is produced using an egg-based manufacturing process and is administered via intramuscular injection. It is indicated for use in persons 6 months of age and older to prevent disease caused by the influenza virus strains contained in the vaccine. By introducing inactivated viral components, the vaccine stimulates the host's immune system to produce antibodies that provide protection against subsequent infection by the corresponding live viruses.
