Overview

AFM32 is a preclinical-stage Innate Cell Engager (ICE®) molecule developed by Affimed and licensed to Affivant Sciences, a subsidiary of Roivant Sciences. Generated using Affimed's proprietary ROCK® (Redirected Optimized Cell Killing) platform, AFM32 is a bispecific antibody designed to recruit and activate innate immune cells, specifically natural killer (NK) cells and macrophages, to target and eliminate cancer cells. The molecule functions by binding to CD16A on the innate effector cells and a specific tumor-associated antigen on malignant cells. In November 2020, Affimed entered into a strategic collaboration with Roivant to develop and commercialize AFM32, with Affivant taking responsibility for clinical development while Affimed continues to collaborate on discovery and research.
