Overview

AFP357 is an **alpha-fetoprotein-derived peptide** designed as a therapeutic cancer vaccine candidate for **hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)**. It is a **peptide fragment** that incorporates human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A24–restricted cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes derived from tumor antigens expressed in HCC. AFP357’s primary mechanism involves the activation of cytotoxic T cells, aiming to induce a tumor-specific immune response. Clinical studies have demonstrated its safety and the potential to induce immune responses in patients. AFP357 is frequently studied in combination with another peptide, AFP403, with administration subcutaneously in clinical protocols.
