Drug intelligence / Profile preview
US Biologic is developing an oral vaccine for African Swine Fever (ASF) using its proprietary OrisBio platform. This platform utilizes *Bacillus subtilis* (*B. subtilis*) spores engineered to express specific African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) antigens. When administered orally, these spores act as a delivery vehicle to the swine's gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT), where they elicit a protective immune response. The program is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Plum Island Animal Disease Center and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
