Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AftoSera is a polyclonal hyperimmune serum developed by Vetal Company for the passive immunization of livestock against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD). It is composed of purified serum containing high concentrations of specific antibodies (immunoglobulins) derived from donor animals hyperimmunized against the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV). Unlike vaccines, which stimulate the animal's own immune system, AftoSera provides immediate but temporary protection by directly neutralizing circulating virus particles. It is typically used in emergency situations or during active outbreaks to protect high-value animals or to limit the spread of the disease within a herd.
