Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Ag85B-ESAT-6** is a recombinant protein-subunit tuberculosis vaccine antigen, also called H1 or Hybrid-1, comprising a single fusion protein of the *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* antigens antigen 85B and early secretory antigenic target 6. It is designed to induce antigen-specific cellular immunity, particularly T-helper-1-associated responses, against *M. tuberculosis*. The antigen has been evaluated in Phase 1 studies in healthy adults as an unadjuvanted antigen and in distinct vaccine formulations with adjuvants including IC31, CAF01, and LTK63; those adjuvants are not part of the Ag85B-ESAT-6 fusion protein itself. Development of the H1 antigen was led by Statens Serum Institut for prevention of tuberculosis.
