Overview

AGA111 is a recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein 6 (rhBMP6) product candidate developed to promote bone fusion and improve functional outcomes in patients undergoing spinal fusion procedures. It is administered during surgery by mixing with autologous blood to form an autologous blood coagulum, which is then applied locally at the surgical site. The drug has demonstrated an excellent safety profile and preliminary efficacy in increasing spinal fusion rates and improving clinical outcomes such as pain reduction and disability scores compared to placebo in Phase 1/2 studies. Currently, it is being evaluated in registrational Phase 3 trials for intervertebral disc degeneration and degenerative disc disease requiring interbody fusion[1][2][3][4][5].
