Overview

AGA2118 is a bispecific antibody in clinical development for the treatment of osteoporosis, particularly in postmenopausal women. It targets two key negative regulators of bone formation—sclerostin (SOST) and dickkopf-related protein 1 (DKK1)—which are inhibitors of the WNT signaling pathway in osteoblasts and bone metabolism. By simultaneously inhibiting both sclerostin and DKK1, AGA2118 aims to enhance bone mineral density (BMD) gains more effectively than therapies targeting only one pathway, potentially preventing compensatory upregulation that can limit efficacy. Clinical trials have demonstrated dose-dependent increases in BMD and bone formation markers with a favorable safety profile. The drug is being developed by Angitia Biopharmaceuticals[2][4][5][6][8].
