Overview

Agatolimod sodium is a synthetic 24-mer oligonucleotide containing three CpG motifs that selectively targets Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9), activating dendritic and B cells and stimulating cytotoxic T cell and antibody responses against tumor cells bearing tumor antigens[5][7]. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2/neu, which is overexpressed in certain breast cancers. The combination of agatolimod sodium with trastuzumab has been investigated as an immunotherapeutic approach to treat patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, aiming to enhance immune-mediated antitumor activity alongside direct HER2 inhibition[1][5].
