Overview

AGM-212 is a preclinical peptide-based therapeutic candidate developed by Anygen for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It functions as a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist. By mimicking the physiological effects of the incretin hormone GLP-1, AGM-212 stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, suppresses inappropriate glucagon secretion, and slows gastric emptying. These mechanisms collectively work to lower blood glucose levels and improve metabolic parameters. The candidate is engineered for enhanced proteolytic stability to extend its half-life, supporting a more convenient dosing schedule for patients. Development is currently in the preclinical stage, with Anygen and its partners exploring its potential in metabolic disorders.
