Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGMG0201 is an investigational therapeutic vaccine developed by AnGes, in collaboration with Osaka University, for the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension. It is a combination vaccine consisting of a DNA plasmid vaccine, an angiotensin II peptide conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (AngII-KLH), and an aluminum phosphate adjuvant (Adju-Phos). AGMG0201 is designed to induce the production of anti-angiotensin II antibodies, which neutralize endogenous angiotensin II (a potent vasoconstrictor in the renin-angiotensin system) to lower blood pressure. In a Phase I/IIa clinical trial in Australia, the vaccine was administered via intramuscular injection and demonstrated safety, tolerability, and the induction of anti-angiotensin II antibodies, particularly at higher doses.
