Overview

AGPI2 is a novel drug candidate being developed by Agyany Pharma for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It is designed as a first-in-class therapy, building upon the known mechanisms of ambroxol, a drug that enhances the function of glucocerebrosidase (GCase) to facilitate the clearance of harmful proteins like alpha-synuclein in the brain. By improving GCase activity, AGPI2 aims to reduce the accumulation of toxic protein clumps, thereby potentially slowing the progression of Parkinson's disease.
