AGR tablet

AGR tablet is a formulation of rupatadine, a second-generation antihistamine and platelet-activating factor (PAF) antagonist, developed by Ahn-Gook Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis. As a dual antagonist, it selectively inhibits both histamine H1 receptors and PAF receptors, which are key mediators in the early and late-phase allergic inflammatory responses. This dual mechanism distinguishes it from traditional antihistamines by potentially providing broader relief of symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and itching. Ahn-Gook Pharmaceuticals conducted a Phase III bridging study in South Korea to support the drug's registration, comparing it to placebo and bepotastine. Rupatadine is marketed globally under brand names like Rupafin for indications including seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis as well as chronic urticaria.
