Overview

Agrippal S1 is a trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine designed for the prophylaxis of influenza, especially in individuals at increased risk of influenza-associated complications. It contains purified surface antigens (haemagglutinin and neuraminidase) from three influenza virus strains propagated in fertilized hen’s eggs and inactivated with formaldehyde. The vaccine complies with WHO recommendations for seasonal influenza vaccination. It is administered as a 0.5 ml suspension via intramuscular or deep subcutaneous injection, typically provided in pre-filled syringes. The vaccine may contain trace residues of egg proteins, kanamycin sulfate, neomycin sulfate, formaldehyde, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), polysorbate 80, and other excipients used during manufacturing.
