Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGS-005 is a personalized, autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy designed to stimulate the patient's immune system to recognize and destroy cancer cells. The therapy involves generating fully matured monocyte-derived dendritic cells from the patient, which are then co-electroporated with amplified tumor RNA and synthetic CD40L RNA. This process optimizes the immune response characteristics of the dendritic cells, aiming to induce a robust cytotoxic T-cell response against tumor antigens. AGS-005 was primarily developed for use in oncology indications such as metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), but has also been investigated for HIV infection as an immunotherapeutic approach[1][2][3][4][10].
