Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGS-1010 is an experimental therapeutic candidate developed by AGS Therapeutics for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) and other neovascularization processes. The drug utilizes a proprietary delivery platform based on Membrane Extracellular Vesicles (MEVs) derived from the microalgae *Chlorella*. These MEVs serve as lipid-bilayer nanoparticles capable of encapsulating various anti-angiogenic payloads, including mRNAs, siRNAs, proteins, and peptides. AGS-1010 is designed for non-invasive administration via eye drops, aiming to deliver therapeutic molecules directly to the back of the eye, thereby providing a potential alternative to traditional intravitreal injections.
