Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGS-2010 is an investigational therapeutic candidate developed by AGS Therapeutics for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The drug utilizes the company's proprietary Membrane Extracellular Vesicles (MEV) platform, which employs microalgae-derived extracellular vesicles as a delivery vehicle for therapeutic payloads. These MEVs are designed to be robust, stable, and capable of delivering diverse molecules—such as proteins, nucleic acids, or small molecules—directly to target tissues while minimizing systemic side effects. For IBD, the platform is optimized for oral administration to ensure localized delivery within the gastrointestinal tract. As of early 2024, AGS-2010 is in the IND-enabling stage of development.
