Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGS-500 is a small molecule telomerase activator being developed by Neuromagen Pharma. It functions by stimulating the activity of Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase (TERT), the catalytic subunit of the telomerase enzyme. By enhancing telomerase activity, AGS-500 aims to counteract cellular senescence and promote tissue regeneration. The drug is currently in preclinical development (in vivo efficacy stage) for a variety of indications, including neurodegenerative diseases like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer's disease, as well as Type 1 Diabetes, fertility issues, and conditions related to skin and hair health.
