AGuIX is an investigational nanomedicine composed of a polysiloxane matrix with gadolinium chelates, developed as a theranostic agent for cancer. It acts as both a radiosensitizer and an MRI contrast agent, designed to enhance the efficacy and precision of radiotherapy in solid tumors by increasing local radiobiological damage to tumor tissue while enabling precise imaging via MRI. The drug’s ultrasmall nanoparticle structure allows for selective tumor targeting and accumulation, improving both treatment outcomes and diagnostic accuracy. Developed by NH TherAguix, it is currently being evaluated in multiple Phase II clinical trials for indications including brain metastases, glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, and cervix cancer. The FDA has granted it fast track designation for malignant gliomas and glioblastoma[1][2][3][5][7][10].
