Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AGX-08-L is a low-dose formulation of AGX-08, an investigational gene therapy developed by Zhongmou Therapeutics for the treatment of geographic atrophy (GA), an advanced form of age-related macular degeneration. The therapy utilizes a recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (rAAV2) vector to deliver a proprietary genetic construct, designated as AG-eNCRV, directly to retinal cells via a single intravitreal injection. The goal of the treatment is to achieve long-term expression of a therapeutic protein within the eye to inhibit the progression of retinal lesions and preserve visual function. AGX-08-L is currently being evaluated in a first-in-human, dose-escalating Phase 1 clinical trial to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with geographic atrophy.
