AH6809

AH6809 is a small molecule prostanoid receptor antagonist originally developed by Glaxo (now GSK). It acts as an antagonist at multiple prostaglandin receptors, including the prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) receptor subtypes EP1, EP2, and EP3, as well as the prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) receptor DP1. In human and animal models, AH6809 is widely utilized as a research tool to investigate the physiological and pathological roles of PGE2 and PGD2 signaling in various processes, such as inflammation, cancer cell proliferation, and smooth muscle contraction. It has also been studied in preclinical models of intervertebral disc degeneration, where it was shown to inhibit AKR1C3.
