Overview

AI-071 is a next-generation monoclonal antibody immunotherapy under development for the treatment of immune-related adverse events, acute respiratory failure (notably COVID-19 pneumonia), and cancer. It acts as a modulator of sialic acid binding immunoglobulin-like lectins (Siglecs) and CD24, with mechanisms including inhibition of CD24 and Siglec pathways. The drug is designed to modulate immune responses by targeting these molecules, potentially reducing inflammation or enhancing anti-tumor immunity depending on the context. AI-071 is administered intravenously and has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. It is being developed by AcroImmune (also referenced as Guangzhou Angke Immune Biotechnology) with OncoC4 also involved in its clinical development[1][2][3][4][5][6][9].
