AI-1130 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by Apeximmune for the treatment of solid tumors. It specifically targets B7-H4 (also known as V-set domain-containing T-cell activation inhibitor 1 or VTCN1), a member of the B7 family of immune-regulatory proteins. B7-H4 is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including breast, ovarian, and endometrial cancers, where it is thought to play a role in inhibiting T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity. As an ADC, AI-1130 is designed to bind to B7-H4 on the surface of cancer cells, leading to the internalization of the drug-antibody complex and the subsequent release of a cytotoxic payload to induce targeted cell death. This mechanism aims to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing off-target toxicity to healthy tissues.
