AI-850

AI-850 is a novel, Cremophor-free microparticle formulation of paclitaxel, the active ingredient in cancer drugs like Taxol and Abraxane. It was developed using a spray drying technique to create rapidly dissolving porous particles suitable for quick intravenous administration without requiring premedication. Preclinical studies demonstrated that AI-850 could be administered more quickly and safely at higher doses with improved efficacy in xenograft models compared to Cremophor paclitaxel formulations. Phase I clinical trials showed that AI-850 could be administered as a brief infusion (<30 minutes) once every 3 weeks at doses up to 205 mg/m².
