Overview
**Aibeta** is a Japanese fixed-dose ophthalmic solution containing brimonidine tartrate and timolol maleate, developed and manufactured by Senju Pharmaceutical for reduction of intraocular pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension when other glaucoma therapies provide insufficient control. Brimonidine is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, while timolol is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker; together they reduce aqueous humor production, with brimonidine also promoting uveoscleral outflow. The product contains brimonidine tartrate 1 mg/mL and timolol maleate 6.8 mg/mL, equivalent to timolol 5 mg/mL, and is administered as ophthalmic drops.
