AIG18 is a small molecule inhibitor of METTL3 (methyltransferase-like 3), an enzyme that serves as the catalytic subunit of the m6A methyltransferase complex. Developed by AIGEN Sciences, AIG18 targets the epitranscriptomic regulation of RNA, specifically the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification, which plays a critical role in RNA stability, splicing, and translation. Dysregulation of METTL3 is associated with the progression of various malignancies. AIG18 is currently in early-stage preclinical development for the treatment of broad tumor types, aiming to suppress oncogenic signaling pathways by inhibiting m6A-mediated gene expression.
