Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aike Fuzheng is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the AIDS Research Institute of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Approved by the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) in 2004, it is designed to strengthen the body's immune response and eliminate pathogenic factors, adhering to the TCM principle of "Fuzheng" (strengthening the body's resistance). The drug is primarily used as an immunomodulator to enhance CD4+ T-lymphocyte counts, improve clinical symptoms such as fatigue and fever, and reduce the incidence of opportunistic infections. It is typically administered as an oral capsule and is often used in combination with Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) to improve patient quality of life and mitigate the side effects of chemical antiretrovirals.
