Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The AIM Vaccine Co. inactivated COVID-19 vaccine is an investigational whole-virus vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of COVID-19. Utilizing AIM Vaccine Co.'s viral vaccine platform, the candidate is produced by cultivating the SARS-CoV-2 virus in cell culture and subsequently inactivating it to ensure it cannot replicate while maintaining its antigenic properties. This approach is designed to present the full array of viral proteins, including the spike, envelope, membrane, and nucleocapsid proteins, to the host immune system to elicit a broad humoral immune response and the production of neutralizing antibodies. The vaccine is currently in the preclinical research stage of development.
