Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aiqisu is a branded formulation of ondansetron developed and manufactured by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. It is designed as an oral soluble film (pellicle), a formulation that dissolves quickly in the mouth without the need for water, which is particularly advantageous for patients experiencing severe nausea or vomiting. Aiqisu is indicated for the prevention of nausea and vomiting induced by highly emetogenic chemotherapy (CINV), radiotherapy (RINV), and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). As a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, it works by blocking serotonin receptors both on the vagal nerve terminals in the periphery and in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the central nervous system.
