Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AISA-003 is an investigational small molecule transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) antagonist being developed by Aisa Pharma. TRPV1 is a non-selective cation channel expressed on sensory nerves that is activated by heat, protons, and chemical stimuli, playing a key role in nociception and neurogenic inflammation. By blocking TRPV1-mediated signaling, AISA-003 aims to alleviate ocular surface pain (such as corneal-induced pain) and associated symptoms of ocular disorders without causing anesthetic effects. The drug is currently in early-stage development (Phase 0/Discovery) for the treatment of eye pain.
