Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AIV007 is a novel, thermoresponsive gel suspension for intravitreal or periocular administration that forms a durable depot inside the eye. It contains lenvatinib as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Lenvatinib is a broad-spectrum tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR 1, 2, and 3), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR 1–4), and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR-α and β). The drug is being developed for retinal and choroidal vascular diseases such as neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). AIV007 aims to address the root causes of these conditions by targeting fibrosis, angiogenesis, and inflammation through its multi-kinase inhibition profile[3][5][7].
