Overview

AJA001 is an orally administered, multi-cannabinoid botanical drug product developed for the treatment of behavioral symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It consists of full spectrum hemp extract (FSHE) derived from a proprietary Cannabis sativa L cultivar (CW1AS1), with cannabidiol (CBD) as the primary cannabinoid and additional cannabinoids including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The formulation is designed to provide broad therapeutic efficacy through multiple mechanisms of action attributed to its varied cannabinoid content. Developed by DeFloria in collaboration with Ajna BioSciences, Charlotte's Web, and British American Tobacco, AJA001 is being advanced under FDA botanical drug guidelines and has completed Phase 1 trials demonstrating safety and tolerability. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for ASD-related irritability[1][3][4][5][8].
