AJH-2947 (also referred to as JM2947) is a small molecule antagonist of the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel, developed by JMackem Co., Ltd. for the treatment of chronic pain. TRPV1 is a non-selective cation channel that acts as a key integrator of various painful stimuli, including noxious heat and chemical irritants. By selectively antagonizing this receptor, AJH-2947 aims to inhibit the transmission of nociceptive signals, offering a potential non-opioid therapeutic option for pain management. The compound has advanced into clinical development, with Phase 1 studies evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in healthy Korean and Caucasian male subjects following oral administration.
