Ajuga decumbens total iridoid glycosides is a botanical drug candidate developed by Beijing Konruns Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) and chronic prostatitis. The drug is a purified extract derived from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Ajuga decumbens* (Decumbent Bugle), containing a concentrated fraction of bioactive iridoid glycosides such as 8-O-acetylshanzhiside methyl ester and harpagide. These compounds exert therapeutic effects through potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic mechanisms, primarily by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (including TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6) and potentially modulating inflammatory enzymes like COX-2. Currently in Phase 2 clinical development in China, this candidate is classified as a Class 1.2 new Chinese medicine and aims to provide a non-antibiotic therapeutic alternative for patients suffering from persistent pelvic discomfort.
