AK-3008

AK-3008 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Jiangsu Ausun Pharmaceutical as a biosimilar to bevacizumab. It functions by binding to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a key mediator of angiogenesis, thereby preventing its interaction with VEGF receptors (VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2) on the surface of endothelial cells. This inhibition leads to reduced tumor vascularization and growth. AK-3008 has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to compare its pharmacokinetics and safety profile with the reference product, bevacizumab, particularly in healthy volunteers, with the primary therapeutic focus being non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
