Overview

AK0610 is a fully human monoclonal antibody specifically engineered to target the pre-fusion F protein of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). It was isolated from a recovered infant and further optimized for higher efficacy. AK0610 possesses a unique viral antigen binding epitope, enabling a novel mechanism of action compared to other RSV-neutralizing antibodies. Preclinical and clinical data indicate that AK0610 achieves potent viral neutralization and exhibits an extended half-life, making it a promising long-acting antibody for the prevention of RSV infection, especially in vulnerable populations such as infants, the elderly, and the immunocompromised. The drug is under development by Shanghai Ark Biopharmaceutical (ArkBio) and has completed Phase 1 clinical trials, demonstrating a desirable safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile with no serious adverse events up to the highest tested dose.[1][3][4][6][10]
