Overview

AK0707 is an orally bioavailable small-molecule inhibitor of Rho-associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2), currently under development by ArkBiopharmaceutical (Suzhou 爱科百发生物医药技术有限公司) for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). ROCK2 is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates various cellular processes, including cytoskeletal organization, cell migration, and gene expression, and is a key mediator in the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases. By selectively inhibiting ROCK2, AK0707 aims to suppress the pro-fibrotic signaling pathways that lead to myofibroblast differentiation and excessive collagen deposition in the lungs. The compound has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
