AK100 is a novel bispecific antibody developed by Akeso Biopharma that simultaneously targets multiple members of the Interleukin-17 (IL-17) cytokine family, specifically IL-17A, IL-17C, and IL-17F. While IL-17A is a well-established driver of inflammation in autoimmune diseases, IL-17C and IL-17F also contribute significantly to tissue-specific inflammatory responses and disease chronicity. By dual-targeting these pathways, AK100 is designed to provide a more comprehensive inhibition of IL-17-mediated signaling than traditional monoclonal antibodies that target only IL-17A or the IL-17A/F heterodimer. The drug is being developed for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including psoriasis and spondyloarthropathies, where broad suppression of the IL-17 family may lead to improved clinical outcomes.
