Overview

AK129 is a humanized bispecific monoclonal antibody that targets and binds to both programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and lymphocyte activation gene-3 (LAG-3) on T cells. By blocking the interaction of PD-1 with its ligand PD-L1 and LAG-3 with its ligand MHC class II, AK129 inhibits two immune checkpoint pathways that contribute to T cell inactivation and exhaustion within the tumor microenvironment. This dual blockade is designed to enhance T cell activation and antitumor immune responses. The drug is being developed as an immunotherapeutic agent for various cancers, including Hodgkin lymphoma, gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, esophageal cancer, melanoma, and other solid tumors. It is administered intravenously[1][2][3][5].
