Overview
AK2017 is a long-acting recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) being developed by Anhui Anke Biotechnology (Group) Co., Ltd. for the treatment of growth-related disorders, including pediatric growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and idiopathic short stature (ISS). As a long-acting formulation, AK2017 is designed to reduce the injection frequency from daily to weekly, which significantly improves patient compliance and quality of life for pediatric patients. The drug functions as an agonist of the growth hormone receptor, mimicking the effects of endogenous growth hormone to promote linear growth and metabolic health. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development in China.
