Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AKDP-Biolik is an approved whole-cell pertussis combination vaccine (DTwP) developed and manufactured by the Ukrainian pharmaceutical company Farmstandart-Biolik. It is indicated for the active immunization of infants and children (from 3 months up to 6 years, 11 months, and 29 days of age) against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). The vaccine is formulated as a suspension for injection and contains purified diphtheria toxoid, purified tetanus toxoid, and an inactivated whole-cell suspension of Bordetella pertussis, adsorbed onto an aluminum hydroxide gel adjuvant. It stimulates the host immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against diphtheria and tetanus toxins, as well as protective antibodies against various Bordetella pertussis antigens, thereby providing active immunity against these three infectious diseases.
