Akiferidin is a bioactive metabolite isolated from the Xinjiang-native medicinal plant *Ferula songorica* Pall. ex Spreng. It exhibits potent anti-tumor and anti-angiogenic activities, particularly in the context of cervical cancer. Mechanistically, akiferidin suppresses tumor growth and angiogenesis by modulating the VEGF/DLL4-Notch signaling pathway. It has been shown to bind directly to Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A) and downregulate key proteins within the pathway. In preclinical studies, akiferidin demonstrated dose-dependent inhibition of cervical cancer cell proliferation and migration, and its combination with bevacizumab significantly enhanced anti-tumor efficacy while reducing microvessel density.
