AKIP1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of A-kinase-interacting protein 1 (AKIP1), an oncoprotein frequently upregulated in various cancers, including endometrial carcinoma and other gynecological malignancies. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, AKIP1 siRNA targets and facilitates the degradation of AKIP1 mRNA, leading to a significant reduction in AKIP1 protein levels. Research indicates that AKIP1 promotes malignant cellular behaviors, tumor invasion, and resistance to chemotherapy. Silencing AKIP1 with siRNA has been shown in preclinical models to inhibit cell viability and enhance the chemosensitivity of cancer cells to agents such as cisplatin. It is currently utilized as a research tool to investigate the role of AKIP1 in cancer progression and as a potential therapeutic strategy to improve treatment outcomes in patients with high AKIP1 expression.
