Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AKL-T01 + stimulant medication refers to the combined use of the EndeavorRx digital therapeutic with standard-of-care pharmacological stimulants (such as methylphenidate or amphetamine derivatives) for the treatment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). AKL-T01 is an FDA-authorized medical device software that employs the Selective Stimulus Management Engine (SSME) to deliver specific sensory stimuli and simultaneous motor challenges designed to target and improve neural networks involved in attentional control. Stimulant medications function primarily by increasing synaptic concentrations of dopamine and norepinephrine through reuptake inhibition or promoted release. Clinical data, including the STARS-Adjunct study, indicate that the addition of AKL-T01 to stable stimulant regimens provides incremental improvements in ADHD-related impairment and attention without increasing the side effect profile of the medication.
