Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aknicare Spot Cream is a topical combination product designed for the localized treatment of acne lesions (spots). It is part of the Aknicare line developed by General Topics S.r.l. The formulation contains a synergistic blend of active ingredients including triethyl citrate, ethyl linoleate, GT-peptide-10, and honokiol. Triethyl citrate and ethyl linoleate act as inhibitors of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, which reduces sebum production and prevents follicular hyperkeratosis. GT-peptide-10 is an antimicrobial peptide that specifically targets *Cutibacterium acnes* without promoting bacterial resistance. Honokiol provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties to reduce the redness and swelling associated with acne spots. The product is typically used as an adjuvant therapy alongside other acne treatments like adapalene for mild to moderate acne vulgaris.
